BUILDING great relationships with her customers has led to Cleo Welsh being named customer adviser of the year at Skipton Building Society’s annual Star Awards. Miss Walsh, who works in the Worcester branch on The Cross, lives in Pershore and has worked for the society for almost four years.

She said: "I was over the moon to win this award, as it is really great to be recognised for your hard work and achievements over the year. I work with a fantastic team and we pride ourselves on customer service, plus we have lovely customers that we really do put at the heart of everything we do. I am carrying on with the hard work and, hopefully, I will be nominated again next year.”

Alison Heaven, Skipton’s Midlands regional manager, said: “Cleo has played an important role in Worcester's success in 2013. She has won customer adviser for the region and has been consistent throughout the whole year. Her efforts contributed to Worcester winning branch of the quarter awards twice in 2013. Cleo has really stepped up to the plate this year. On several occasions she has put in that extra effort to ensure all paperwork is up to date or branch merchandising is ready for the next morning.”

This latest success means Worcester is a double award-winning branch. Recently, Kevin Quinn, another customer adviser at the branch, beat off a challenge from more than 1,400 colleagues to be named the winner of Skipton’s customer excellence award.
