THE secrets of the electromagnetic spectrum are uncovered at a special science exhibition at Malvern Library next Saturday, September 27.

Beyond the Rainbow - Wonders of the Electromagnetic Spectrum will include interactive talks by world experts, workshops for visitors to try various experiments and much more,

On hand will be experts from the Institute of Physics, Malvern Festival of Innovation, the University of Worcester and Worcester Astronomical Society, and topics covered include optical illusions, thermal imaging, remote sensing and much more.

Nicky Thomas, the county co-ordinator for the Institute of Physics, which is funding the event, said: "The event is to help people of all ages and backgrounds learn more about the waves beyond the rainbow that affect our everyday lives.

"Since almost everyone has heard of radios, photographs, x-rays, microwaves, and mobile phones, they already know something about the electromagnetic spectrum. We have world experts giving lively interactive talks, hands-on workshops where people can try different experiments and make things to take away, a QR code trail, and displays and stands. "

The event runs from 10am to 4pm. It is part of a month-long exhibition in the library at Graham Road showcasing the technological achievements of QineiQ and its predecessors.
