RIVAL supermarket football teams will meet on Sunday August 9 for the 18th annual charity match between Evesham's Morrisons and Tesco stores.

The matches have been organised by Mark Payne since 1998 in aid of St Richard's Hospice which looked after his mother prior to her death.

Mr Payne, who works for Tesco in the wines and spirits department, has helped raise thousands of pounds for the hospice through the football matches that are well supported by the local community. Morrisons currently hold the lead at nine games to eight so Tesco hopes to draw the table level on the day.

This year the match is being played at Littleton Football Club with kick off at 6pm.

There will be a wide range of raffle prizes on offer. Entry to the match is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
