A 15-YEAR-OLD Droitwich singer has been picked from hundreds of hopefuls to sing with X Factor stars G4 in Birmingham.

When Hannah Just, who is studying for her GCSEs at Droitwich Spa High School, entered the G4 Christmas Star Search she never expected to be selected as one of just eight youngsters to sing with the band during their Christmas By Candlelight Tour.

The talented songstress from Hartlebury will join G4 at St Peter's Church in the city on Friday, November 27 to sing a solo during the band's performance of Once In Royal David's City.

She said: "I'm really excited - it's a great experience. I'm not really nervous, it is a great opportunity."

However, the story could have been very different, as Hannah had doubts about whether she should enter or not.

But after some encouraging words from Worcester Rock Choir leader Helen Jones - who also happens to be Hannah's mum - she went for it.

"Two hours before the closing, I submitted the video of me singing and it was two days later I got the text," said Hannah, who added she "jumped around" when she found out she had won a place.

The competition saw hundreds of young singers aged under 16 try their luck for a place singing with G4, who came second place in 2004's X Factor. The eight lucky winners will join the band at different dates around the country.

Earlier this year Hannah got to the finals of Wychavon's W Factor song contest and sings with two friends in harmony trio Three Chords.

Growing up in a musical family, she has been surrounded by music from a young age and is used to performing on stage.

The year ten student said: "I have sung since I could talk, I just love it. Music is my passion, all I want to do is sing.

"I want to go onto a career in singing and performing, it is just an amazing opportunity to say I have sung with G4."

On the day, her proud parents and grandparents will be in the audience cheering her on.

Mrs Jones, whose other two daughters Laura and Olivia also enjoy singing, said: "We are so proud. I'm absolutely blown away."

A spokesperson for Amick Productions, which ran the competition, said: "Hannah was selected to perform this first verse for us at our show in Birmingham, and we're really looking forward to meeting her and singing with her.

"Two major things stood out for us with Hannah's audition: her love of the music and her technical ability to hold pitch and sing consistently and well.

"We're looking forward to performing in Birmingham: historically a city that has offered major support for us."
