THE animals will take centre stage at the Farm Animal Sanctuary, at Middle Littleton, at the weekend when a Christmas carol service and nativity is held.
The sanctuary, at Manor Orchard Farm, is run by Jan Taylor and is home to scores of rescued and abandoned farm animals. Its patron is actress Joanna Lumley.
Centre stage at the nativity will be Hosanna, the donkey, who was rescued from Bulgaria 10 years ago.
"The service and nativity will be in the barn and to give it a proper Christmas feel we are having two reindeer come too this year," she said. Refreshments include hot soup, mince pies, mulled wine and there will be a raffle and tombola. There will also be live music.
The service begins at 5.30pm on Saturday December 5. Proceeds will go towards buying winter feed for the animals.
