THE breast unit in Worcester has a new website which its founder hopes will let it fulfil its potential.

The new website for the recently opened Worcestershire Breast Unit - www.worcsbreastunithaven.com -went live yesterday (Wednesday).

The new website provides information about the newly formed Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven Charity which is taking the work of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign forward, following the successful community fundraising to build the unit.

The Worcestershire Breast Unit is located on site at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, in a specialist unit.

It looks to further assist the women and men of the county with their breast care needs, providing clinical services, assistance and complementary therapy over and above what the NHS can offer.

It will provide ongoing support for people presenting with breast issues and those diagnosed with breast cancer all under one roof.

The free, one-to-one, tailored support and complementary therapies are provided by the national charity, Breast Cancer Haven.

Steven Thrush, specialist breast consultant at the unit said: “Worcestershire people have been passionate about supporting the vision of the new breast care unit and have made it their own by raising the funds to make it happen.

"Now, we must all ensure that the unit fulfils its potential to be the very best centre of care for the women and men who will visit it in the future.

"The website will assist our work by helping inform about the work we do, encouraging men and women around the county to access the services and support on offer.”

The Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven website contains case studies, service information, times, advice and point of contact, as well as details of events and fundraising to allow these services to continue and be offered to ever more local people.
