A NORTHERN soul night has been organised in memory of Wilf Thould this evening (Friday).
Friends of Mr Thould, who was in his 50s, have organised the evening of music at Evesham Hospital Club, Riverside, to raise money for Leckhampton Hospice.
Gillian Mountjoy, who helped organise the charity night, will be sponsored not to drink during the evening and has already raised over £100.
She said: "He was a long-standing friend from Hampton.
"He liked Northern soul music and him and his friends would all go to Wigan Casino as teenagers so we thought it would be appropriate way to remember him and raise money.
"He was a real character."
Martin Icke said: "Anytime spent with Wilf was always an adventure.
"He was full of life. We all miss him being around."
Andy Hutchison added: "We used to train martial arts together.
"It makes me smile today as when he was training he always made the Bruce Lee noises. Bless him."
They thanked Alison Jennings and Jayne Icke for also helping to organise the evening and Sean O'Connel who will be playing non-stop Northern Soul.
People can also take part in a raffle and doors open at 7.30pm.
