BUSINESSES in Evesham have been forced to close because of flooding.
They have also had to take extra precautions and adapt to new challenges after the River Avon burst its banks.
The Northwick Arms Hotel closed for two days for its customer's safety.
Dawn Holloway, general manager, said: "We could not have people turning up and risking their lives to get in their room.
"We made the decision to close the hotel as people could not get to us and we have put up our flood defences.
"It is one of those things. It is mother nature."
The hotel has re-opened today.
She added that Worcestershire County Council and the people in Evesham have been extremely supportive.
"Everyone does support everyone around here, and thankfully, you can still get top of the doctors and hospital.
"We will be alright as long as no one gets hurt."
Other businesses like Ye Olde Baked Potato Shoppe - formally Spud Man - had to close on Wednesday due to the flooding, making it impossible for employees to get to the business from home.
It was back open yesterday.
A spokesperson for Quality Health and Homecare on Bridge Street said: "Apart from some carers struggling to get to Pershore, we have thankfully not been too affected.
"The 2007 floods were pretty horrific, and thankfully, this is nowhere near as bad as that.
Sharhan Chowdury, from The Mint House, said: "We were open Wednesday, but it has affected business because no one came in.
"We could see the flood water coming close to the restaurant next to us, and it was very close to the door.
"Over ten years, and we have never seen it like this.
"We have put chairs on the table as a precaution, just in case."
Flood warnings are still in place across Worcestershire, including for the River Avon.
