Pershore Town has announced that Danny Janes will make his return to the club as first team manager ahead of next season.

Janes had a successful eighteen-month tenure previously with the Plums, transforming fortunes in the 2021/22 season after his appointment in the November.

He led the club to a cup treble, winning the Worcestershire Senior Cup, Hellenic League Supplementary Cup and the Smedley Crooke Cup.

The winning streak continued into the 2022/23 season, and Janes was instrumental in pushing Pershore from step six up to step five for the first time in 23 years by winning the Hellenic League Division One title.

The Plums also clinched the Hellenic League Challenge Cup that season, defeating Lydney in the final after beating Hellenic League Premier Division Champions, Cribbs in the semi-final.

Despite securing promotion, Janes chose to leave the club at the end of the season for what he described as "selfish reasons", opting to take time to reflect on his development.

As preparations begin for the 2024/25 season, Janes will confirm his management team in the upcoming weeks.

The club announced on Friday (April 19) that its most recent first team manager, Lewis Marston, would depart the club.

In a statement, they wrote: "The club would sincerely like to thank Lewis for his contribution as Pershore Town's first team manager.

"His hard work, commitment and perseverance in his first senior appointment holds him in good stead with the promise of a bright future in football management.

"Lewis will always be welcome at our club, and we wish him our very best."
