ALL lanes on the M42 have been reopened, after a crash, which caused a car to flip on its roof, caused severe delays for Monday morning commuters.

The crash, which happened at around 8.20am on Monday, September 26, involved a Renault Clio and a Mercedes.

One car overturned and hit the central barrier of the M42, creating delays of up to 60 minutes between junctions one and five.

Two lanes were closed on the M42 northbound, between J2, A441, Alvechurch, near Redditch, and J3, A435, Portway, as a result of the crash, but these were reopened at around 9.45am.

West Mercia Police, firefighters from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene.

A man in his early 30s, who was trapped in his car when emergency services arrived at the scene, was taken to hospital for further treatment.
