LOCK Darren O’Shea does not doesn’t mind showing off his dancing skills if it is it’s after a Worcester Warriors triumph.

O’Shea did a caterpillar-style dance on the pitch surrounded by his team-mates in the aftermath of Warriors’ thrilling 27-23 win against Munster ‘A’ in Pool Three of the British and Irish Cup.

“At the end of the game whoever is voted by the team as the man of the match has to do a little dance performance,” revealed O’Shea.

“I want to play a bit better every week but, hopefully, I can build on things.

“This is an opportunity for us to put our hand up for first-team selection.

“I am loving it at Worcester — I have been made to feel at home straight away.”

O’Shea wore the captain’s armband against his former club after Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier was replaced with 19 minutes remaining.

In the last play of the match, with Warriors trailing by three points, O’Shea made a call for his team to aim for a match-winning try, which led to Sam Betty being driven over the line.

Flanker Betty, who scored two tries, said: “The coaches gave the man-of-the-match award to Darren who played really well against his old club – and he deserved it.

“He was outstanding and he’s been playing really well since he first arrived.

“Darren’s really good in the line-out and works hard.”

Warriors are top of the pool after two successive wins but Betty says today’s cup tie against Birmingham rivals Moseley will be a tough test.

Moseley bounced back from a 27-21 loss at Munster ‘A’ in their opening pool match to win 22-14 against Nottingham at Billesley Common last weekend.

Betty said: “I don’t know what type of side Moseley will be putting out but all these types of games are tough. We were just glad to grind out our win against Munster.

“There are some great young players who are shining in our side and, in a year or two, they will be making the step up to the top level.

He added: “It’s important that as many players as possible get first-team experience because it’s such a long season and it all comes down to getting into the play-off games at the end of it.”
