CHIPPING Campden are just one point off the top of West Clubs Women’s Hockey League Severn Division Two after a 7-1 win over Cirencester thirds.
Cirencester were indebted to their keeper as they held Campden for much of the first-half.
However, Flo Giles broke the deadlock with her first goal of the season to take a 1-0 lead into the interval.
The second period saw Campden go on a six-goal spree set in motion by Sarah Green followed by Sally Beale.
Kerry Jackson added two more before Berni Amphlett and Jo Peachey got in on the act too before a late consolation from the visitors.
Despite goals from six different players, the player-of-the-match accolade went to Sarah Edmund for a fine performance playing out of position on the left wing.
Campden return to action a week on Saturday when they entertain leaders Gloucester thirds at Evesham High School (noon).
