BENGEWORTH Sharks maintained their lead in Evesham and District Association Specsavers Division Two with a narrow 6-4 victory over Littleton Bears.
Sharks’ Geoff Collings became the first player this season to defeat Bears’ Paul Bruner, in a close five-set contest.
Wyre Barbedwyre moved up to second with wins against Bengeworth Wolves and Bengeworth Green.
On-song Eric Lane won all six across the two matches, including a vital comeback from 2-1 down against Green’s Brian Haines.
Wallace House Troopers enjoyed a convincing win over Littleton Dolphins, which saw the end of the only other 100 per cent individual record in the division.
Dolphins’ James Morrow was beaten 3-1 by player-of-the-match Keith Ferguson.
Morrow still leads the individual rankings from Bruner, having played more matches.
