KINGTON Blades are poised to bag the Evesham and District Association Specsavers Division One title with one match left.
They beat Wyre Livewyres 8-2 with Clive Irwin taking three wins in straight sets. Blades need to avoid defeat in their final match with Bengeworth Red to win the league.
Bengeworth Red drew 5-5 with third-placed Littleton Positives with Jack Davis undefeated and Chris Message securing two victories.
Littleton Clubs kept up the pressure on Blades with a 6-4 triumph over Littleton Aces with the help of the undefeated league’s top player Dave Harvey and two wins from Alex Tomlinson.
Kington Bulldogs battled to a narrow 6-4 win over Bengeworth Purple as Andrew Smith won three matches and the doubles with Ernie Smith.
