PERSHORE Cricket Club’s three senior teams all won their respective divisions in the Worcestershire League.

This is the first club treble in the league’s history and a record-breaking third title success for the first XI at The Bottoms inDefford Road.

The Plums were crowned Division One champions, securing promotion back to the Birmingham and District Premier League after an absence of five years.

The top spot was gained with a 49-point margin over their nearest challengers.

The team were championship leaders for most of the 2015 season and had the league’s leading wicket-taker in 18-year-old Taylor Pugh. He took 52 league wickets, including five five-wicket hauls.

Seventeen-year-old Adam Wiffen led the batting with 651 league runs, ably supported by his opening partner Liam Ridings’ 563.

Pershore second XI won Division Two in convincing style by 85 points and will join the first XI in a return to Birmingham League action in 2016.

The thirds won Division Seven at a canter — 67 points clear of their nearest rivals, and are promoted to Division Six.

The club boasted a league record of only four defeats between all three sides.

Chairman Phil Oxley said: “I am extremely proud of the efforts of all the captains, players, coaches and support teams.”
