PERSHORE Town's worrying form in the Hellenic League Premier continued on Saturday as they suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Tuffley Rovers.

The Plums have now lost four in a row in the league - three of those at home - and have dropped out of the play-off places and down into ninth place in the table.

It was another game without a goal for Lewis Marston's side, who have scored just once in their last 360 minutes of league football. Tuffley, 14th place in the league, took the lead in the first-half when Jake White pounced on a deflected pass into the box before sliding the ball past Ryan Young in the Pershore net.

Both sides had their chances, but Tuffley managed to keep Pershore at bay until the final minutue of stoppage time when Jordan Rhodes headed past Young to secure a hugely important three points.

Tuffley have gone four games unbeaten in the league and have picked up eight points from a possible 12 which has seen them pull clear of relegation trouble.

As for Pershore, they will be looking to end the slide when they go to second-bottom Lydney Town on Saturday.
